Have you ever wondered if there was a way to inject self confidence and positive mental attitude? Harvard researcher Amy Cuddy says, "Your body language shapes who you are!" [tweet this]
In this incredible TED Talk that I just watched, social psychologist Amy Cuddy shows how “power posing” (standing in a posture of confidence), even when we don’t feel confident, can affect testosterone and cortisol levels in the brain, and might even have an impact on our chances for success.
Amy Cuddy, in this TED Talk, shares her research on body language that reveals how we can change other people’s perceptions — and even our own body chemistry — simply by changing body positions.
Watching this video, I was especially intrigued by her demonstration of the impact of "power-posing" just before an important meeting such as a job interview, or a business presentation etc. Once you watch this video, you will be excited about what is possible, I am sure!
If you enjoyed this video, please share your thoughts about this research and how do you think it can help us in day-to-day basis. I look forward to your comments.
Thanks Kumar for stunning video.
I accept as true, One’s body language is enough to know that he/she is not happy or what he/Shes expresses. This is a very powerful tool.
Do watch this awesome video?
I learn something from it. I’m sure will you will not disappoint after watching this.
Ranjan Ji,
Thank you for your feedback. It is an awesome concept. Glad you enjoyed!
Great blog post Kumar! I absolutely LOVE Ted.com videos.
A couple of points… First, if you have not read it, I highly recommend “The Biology of Belief” by Dr. Bruce Lipton http://bit.ly/S9wPoD
Secondly, body language is a very important tool for understanding people at a deeper level.
In many cases, they are saying one thing, but their body is revealing something entirely different.
For example, it is studied and utilized to great effect by police officers in observation and interrogation, and often points out the direction an investigation needs to be taken.
Kind Regards,
Bill
Bill,
I just watched the video by Dr. Bruce Lipton and enjoyed his content. I think I am going to take a dive into his work and explore as I found it very facinating. Thank you for sharing this.
Regards,
Kumar
You’re very welcome, my friend.
Dr. Lipton’s material is quite literally life-changing for many people.
Great article. I have been using this tactic for some time now and had amazing results. Changing your body language can really help you increase your confidence!
Great video. I have lived by this idea for many years. It’s amazing how my life changed when I started doing it. Body language is more important than what you say when you are around people. Not only did it change me, but it changed peoples attitudes around me. It was amazing how often I could change someones outlook by my attitude around them.
I watched before, like a year ago. Very interesting. I think many people are doing these days, cause not all of us get a job as we want to have, we have to do job not in our expertise, and we need to fake it until we like it.
