Diwali (or Deepawali) is the biggest and the brightest of all Hindu festivals celebrated by families around the world. It's the festival of lights which literally illumines the country with its brilliance, brightness and dazzles all with its joy
Diwali comes from the Sanskrit word Deepavali which literally means "a row of lights." This auspicious day, known as the "festival of lights," is celebrated by Hindus around the world. It historically symbolizes the victory of good over evil and celebrates light and life on both community and personal levels.
According to Wikipedia,
While Diwali is popularly known as the "festival of lights", the most significant spiritual meaning is "the awareness of the inner light". The celebration of Diwali as the "victory of good over evil", refers to the light of higher knowledge dispelling all ignorance, the ignorance that masks one's true nature, not as the body, but as the unchanging, infinite, immanent and transcendent reality. With this awakening comes compassion and the awareness of the oneness of all things (higher knowledge). Just as we celebrate the birth of our physical being, Diwali is the celebration of this Inner Light.
What time do you get up on Saturdays and Sundays? Why your weekends? Well, that is because I wanted you to know what time you get up on your own when you have a choice to sleep more.
Those who know me know that I am an early riser (if not super early.) I go to bed after midnight and I am up around 6 AM (working to notch it up to 5 AM,) every single day. Not because I hate sleeping, but because I believe I can do better than that.
An Early Childhood Practice
Early in my childhood, I saw my dad getting up at 4 AM every day without exception. In fact, he was the alarm clock for my family. He would work for the government from 9 to 5, take care of our farm (yes, we did have cattle and we did not buy milk,) at night and in early morning, and then he would sit down with us to make sure we did our homework before he left for his duty.
Have you come across people who come to you for answers but actually seem to have all the answers already?
The situation becomes even especially more challenging when they have not paid for your time in trying to help them get their answers. I have had several such encounters with people who wanted me to guide them; coaching them so they could succeed in their careers. But, as it turned out, they really were not looking for anything but to waste my time.

Everybody seems to talk of “To-Do-List” and I had shared about it earlier when I shared how I manage my list as well.
However, having a “Not-To-Do” list is equally important, if not more so, because I have been in situations recently where there are more things lined up for me to act upon while I am not yet done with my current task at hand. Situations like this bring frustration.
What I noticed with experience is, as we get better at doing our work effectively, we also attract more and more attention from others and that means more assignments.
I have not written about leadership for a while on this blog and I thought I need to talk about the relationship between confidence and success in this post.
Somebody I am coaching to set up a business shared a concern that triggered this post today. It’s very common and one of the things I struggled with in the beginning as well.
The challenge of having a productive and inspiring online experience is a big one. Especially, when your computer is connected to the internet, it seems distractions are just waiting to happen.
Disconnecting the internet, checking emails only once a day etc. are not the things some of us can accept as a good solution. In fact, to me and to many entrepreneurs with online businesses, such recommendations are counterproductive.
Have you noticed how many people are starting their own businesses every day? The numbers are mind- blowing and obviously that’s because the idea of owning a business is very fascinating as well.
Entrepreneurship is the best thing that can happen to you and I can tell you from my personal experience. It is a way of life. Entrepreneurship is adventurous and it is the best way to succeed while serving other people in many ways.
I am an avid advocate of entrepreneurship and free enterprise myself. That is the reason I started blogging when I did so I could not just brand my business online but also help other people do the same for themselves.
Who doesn’t want to be successful in their endeavor? Every entrepreneur wants success and if you are like me, you also want it as of yesterday.
Since starting my journey of entrepreneurship, I have studied success stories of many extraordinary entrepreneurs (Rich Devos, Sam Walton, Steve Jobs etc.), successful sports personalities (John Wooden, Tom Landry etc.) and some extremely successful bloggers (Darren Rowse, Michael Hyatt, Neil Patel etc.) and learned tremendous motivation.
I have mentioned on several occasions that I continue to attend many success seminars and workshops regularly as I continue to learn and grow. Seminars and workshops are definitely my favorite because of the power of association which makes a huge difference in our mindset!
Have you noticed how much impact your first impression has on your overall experience in any interaction with another human being? Sometimes, a great first impression becomes a life saver in difficult situations while a simple transaction may turn into a nightmare based on how we perceive one another based on the first impression.
Back in the days when I just started working, right after college, I had a tough time understanding why people at work wouldn’t take me seriously unless I confronted them.
Not just at work, I soon realized I had the challenge of having a good transaction in most places of public service as well such as booking counters at railway stations, bank clerks, airport check-in counters and so forth.
