10 Amazing Benefits Of Blogging

Kumar Gauraw

Just a couple of decades ago, blogging didn’t even exist. It is relatively a new thing when we compared to some of the old ways of advertising, marketing or finding new business. However, there are about 200+ million blogs running on the internet today.

Amazing Benefits Of Blogging

Blogging has established itself as the center of all online marketing where even big brands are paying a lot of attention to it.

Yet, I see so many people puzzled about blogging and its potential. Some are afraid that they are not good at this or that or something along those lines (just like fear of public speaking) while many others do not see it as a viable option.

But what concerns me the most is when smart people, who are successful at what they do, don’t see the point. They outrageously reject blogging as a viable marketing tool, thinking it is for people who have nothing better going on in their lives. When I hear this, it reminds me of those who live all their lives believing that network marketing isn’t an industry where somebody can succeed or make money even though the industry keeps growing year after year at an unprecedented rate.

However, looking objectively, the questions and concerns are valid to some extent. If you have them, you are seeking answers, which is a good thing. Ultimately you are the one who needs to know if blogging is good for you or not based on your abilities and goals. After all, not everybody can do everything.

Therefore, I decided to share some of the amazing benefits of blogging that I received. Blogging for earning cash, making money online is great. It opens a tremendous potential if you want to make some serious money online. Yet, the benefits I am going to share with you in this post are  even more valuable.

If you’re aspiring to start your blogging journey, prepare to be enlightened. Also, if you don’t know how to begin, here are some helpful links for you:

  2. Advance Guide to Blogging
  3. Experts Guide to Blogging

If you already have a blog then this is a reassurance for you that you are doing the right thing. Hopefully, you will be able to enlighten others around you with this knowledge.

Okay, so here are a some of the most amazing benefits you receive as a byproduct of blogging:

1. You Gain Better Writing Skills

People with great writing skills have always been respected since the beginning of humanity. Writing is one of the most valuable communication skills, even today, where everybody thinks that being able to speak is good enough.

When you blog, you have write. When you blog, you find creative ways to convey your message to the world. The more you write, the more clarity you receive in your thinking.

I didn’t notice it in the beginning of my blogging journey. But if I look back and read some of my writings on my first blog, I know for sure that I have made tremendous improvements in my own writing.

Practice makes us perfect and what better practice than writing on your own blog regularly? When you do that, it’s a no-brainer that you’ll become proficient at writing. Just for the record, this skill is absolutely invaluable. If you really get good at this, you have the opportunity to make a fortune by just using your writing skills, as many people have.

2. You Get To Know Your Own Style

Just like speakers have their speaking style, bloggers have their style too and you will know when you blog.

Less is more. That means the more you know about yourself, your personal style and your own voice, the more you can get focused and get better results through your efforts. When I started to blog, I started to discover my style of writing. I began to understand what I can write the best about and what I should completely avoid.

You will know as you blog if you are motivational or you are inspirational. You will know if you are good at debate or you are funny. The more you know about yourself, the better you will be in your conversation with others and impactful in your own business. Isn’t that an amazing benefit of blogging?

3. You Gain New Knowledge

I was a person who had no idea how HTML works even though I had spent 15 years in the IT industry. It was so because all my life I had worked in an IT domain that had never required me to know HTML, PHP or CSS like subjects even remotely.

As I began blogging, I had to learn these skills slowly. I not only learned these, but started helping others learn it and take charge of their personal branding. Now, I lead my Krishna World Wide Team that does a lot of web development work.

If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot. ~Stephen King [tweet this]

It’s amazing how much I learned about Leadership because I wrote about it. I know many people who read leadership books and attend motivational seminars. But in my experience, there is nothing more helpful than sharing with others what you have learned. My blog became a platform where I started learning with others. Not only others enjoyed it, but it helped me gain more clarity on the subjects I wrote about.

As you continue to blog, you sometimes will run out of subjects to write about. When that happens to me, I rush to books and browse through the internet where I can learn something new so I can share on my blog. This keeps me up-to-date with what is happening in the subject areas of my interest and that way, I learn something new every day.

Blogging creates a need for you to learn new things and you, in turn, enjoy learning and sharing. Just for this, I love blogging and encourage you to experience its blessings.

4. You Learn Time Management

Blogging is something most people don’t do as a full-time profession. That means, you always have something that you do for a living and you blog besides it. Blogging is always an additional responsibility on top of whatever you are already doing.

Blogging, just like your job or business, also requires you to write your posts on a regular interval and be consistent about it. Those blog posts take time to write, format, publish and then promote on social media and other places. It demands some dedicated time on a regular basis.

Coping with my blog, along with all other commitments, sometimes even seems overwhelming. But the benefits are so many that I figure out a way to manage my time for my blog. Consistency is the key to success in everything and blogging isn’t any exception. So, I keep up my commitment.

Managing your time between your job, your business, your family and your blog isn’t easy. But when you know why you need your blog, you will prioritize your activity and find time for your blog. That is how you learn how to effectively manage your time. Your blog will teach you how to manage yourself and your time if you are serious about it. Isn’t it such an incredible benefit of blogging?

5. You Gain Visibility & Credibility

Robert Kiyosaki doesn’t need to introduce himself to anybody and if at all he has to, it will be very brief and powerful. Why? He is a book author in addition to having many other successful businesses.

All things being equal, people will do business with, and refer business to, those people they know, like and trust. ~Bob Burg [tweet this]

Blogging brings democracy in media and now even you have the same power at your disposal if you choose to create visibility for yourself and increase your influence in the world around you.

Also, in today’s world where information of every kind is available at our fingertips, if you have to spend your time telling others about your credibility, your success or to influence them, you are not influential.

People discover almost every piece of information online these days. So if they want more information about you, guess where they are looking. And if you don’t have a blog, chances are, either they aren’t finding anything on you, or finding things that may not add to your credibility.

Blogging is the solution to this problem. Blogging creates visibility for you in a way you want to be known. Blogging combined with social media provides you with that opportunity to be visible and credible in the marketplace. Do you see the incredible benefit it can bring to your business or career?

6. You Establish Your Brand Identity–Gain Expert Status

I vividly remember almost everybody (especially my ‘good’ friends and ‘family’ members) giving me a tough time as soon as I started my first business with a network marketing opportunity. It was strange to see people with no business background to people who didn’t make success in any business giving all kinds of advice as if they knew it all.

Reason? I was just like them. I knew as much as they knew (or less) and I wasn’t any more influential than them. They felt free giving their free opinions in their effort to ‘save’ me from getting into something unworthy of my time (as per them).

However, I began my journey of reading, self-discovery and personal development thanks to some incredible mentorship I received through the program. I started to blog as I began learning and that helped me share what I learned with the world. Soon it started to add to my credibility, my influence.

I worked hard and learned social media marketing, SEO, internet marketing and I established my brand identity as a personal branding expert and social media strategist. I decided to establish my brand name in this space and got focused.

Today, people from all over the world approach me for mentorship, book authors, life coaches and other entrepreneurs seek my help in establishing their brand identity online. Those who realize the importance of Personal Branding for business seek my services.

Did it happen just like that?

No, it took hard work and a diligent and consistent blogging along with everything else that I do. My blog helped me establish my personal brand identity as an expert in the subject areas I am good at. My brand identity helps me get new business on a regular basis because of the trust I have in the marketplace.

How did this trust come? It came through the content I write and share. I share my knowledge with you and when you find value in it, I gain your confidence. Do you see the point?

7. You Get More Opportunities For Networking

Due to the visibility you gain through blogging, your circle of influence dramatically expands. Depending on the blogging niche, bloggers are approached by brands on a daily basis for reviews, giveaways and advertisements.

I receive several offers almost on a daily basis and it means more opportunities for networking, and more growth for my business.

You may say that one can also network by participating in local chamber of commerce events or other networking avenues. Well, do what you think works. I blog, in addition to that which generates more networking opportunities for me, even while I am sleeping. My blog gets me leads in countries and territories you can probably not reach otherwise. Isn’t that amazing to be able to do that?

8. You Become Creative As You Blog

One thing that really helped me was the need to do my research, gain knowledge about the topic I planned to blog. The need to blog on the topic required me to spend time researching not just for the content but also on the ways I could produce the content for my audience.

In the process of blogging, I not only identified leading bloggers from various domains but also some really helpful resources, tools and technologies which helps me everyday in many aspects of my business and in tactical management of my online marketing efforts.

When you start blogging and become serious about it, more or less you become like an editor of a magazine.  You start to plan what works, what doesn't. What kind of title people like to read, what kind of content brings more visitors, what kind of sub-headings your posts should have etc. You begin to get creative by finding relevant pictures, adding flavor to your posts.

The creativity you apply not only helps your blog gain more followers, you grow as a person, you gain more confidence and get more opportunities along the way. When you get creative, you find ways to get the job done in ways others can’t even imagine. Blogging is a great playground to practice creativity.

9. You Learn To Capitalize Social Media Effectively

Most people who don’t have a blog do not leverage the power of social media in their favor. Businessmen who don’t understand the power of social media (because they don’t blog), avoid and critique the use of social media. Others waste a lot of their time browsing through the internet spending hours daily for nothing.

As a blogger who started this journey for personal branding purposes to begin with, I am here to tell you that more and more businesses are going online whether or not you and I agree. As an entrepreneur if you aren’t capitalizing on blogging and social media, your competition is cutting your market share every single day.

When I started to blog, I started to engage with my readership base through social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. I didn’t have any search engine based referrals and I needed to depend on social media for traffic.

Through blogging, I learned (and you will learn as well) the skills needed to manage an online community. I learned the strategies top marketers use to foster increased engagement and create effective content on social media channels.

I didn’t know I had these many skills when I started blogging. I didn’t know I could be so intelligent until people started to come to me for help in these areas and I began to make some money through these skills.

Social media management skills that blogging teaches you, is absolutely a blessing in disguise. You can’t avoid using Facebook and Google+ these days. The world is like that. Then, doesn’t it make sense to leverage your time through blogging and benefit from your time that goes on social media anyway?

10. You Become More Confident

With all the above listed gains because of blogging, it is obvious that you find yourself not just more confident and empowered, but you begin to empower others around you.

As your confidence grows, you gain more knowledge, more creativity, more following, more influence, more credibility and in turn, it feeds your self-confidence. This is the biggest gain of blogging where you only make money, you truly increase your self-image and therefore, your income, your business grows along with it.

This is one character trait that is the key to success in every aspect of life, business or career. If blogging helps you gain these many skills and helps you gain more confidence, I think this is the best investment you can do in yourself.

My Blog Is My Platform To Inspire And Empower

I started blogging as a way to self-expression. I wanted to share what I learned. I started blogging to share some inspiring stories and quotes etc.

But with everything that I gained through the process and through my business building activities, now I blog not just for self-expression and self–discovery but also to inspire others dream big, do more and be more.

As I continue my journey, I am helping men and women around the globe to gain knowledge, gain confidence and get empowered through my platform. It isn’t just about money, but it is a way to give back. It is an incredible experience!

I have found what works for me and what doesn’t. Through my experience of working with other entrepreneurs, bloggers, authors and coaches, I write about topics that I find helpful in inspiring my readers to think beyond their limitations, challenge complacency and achieve more.
